R. Kelly is out promoting his upcoming album “Black Panties” and last night he appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show to give it an extra push. He spoke with the talk show host about meeting the great Nelson Mandela whom past away yesterday and performed “Soldier’s Heart” in memory of the civil rights leader. He also performed “Shut Up” and “When A Woman Loves” and played some funny improv scenes with some fans. Kanye West spoke on all the usual during his stay with The Breakfast Club, but during his sit down on Juan Epstein with Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds, he brought things back to his early influences of rap. Well he is about to make his albums a whole lot simpler as he plans for his next solo project to only feature 8 songs. Dr. Dre is no stranger in expanding his business ventures. Having seen major success with his Beats By Dre headphone line, he is now set to launch a brand new music streaming website called “Beats Music” which will compete directly with Spotify. The new project will come to life in January 2014 and the west coast legend has tapped in Trent Reznor as CEO. The new service will feature more artist-curated playlists with more personalized options. It is also reported that the website received a $60 million investment. We’ll have to wait and see if this can do some damage next year.
