G.O.O.D. Music producer Travi$ Scott kicked it with Billboard for a new interview about his journey in the rap game thus far. He talks about growing up in Houston and leaving it all to start fresh in New York and Los Angeles. T.I. was the first to show interest in the young star but Kanye West caught on soon after. His manager introduced him to Ye and when he finally met him, he played “Owl Pharaoh” and got nothing but positive responses.
He also talked about how he landed on JAY Z‘s “Magna Carta Holy Grail” which was very last minute and his experiences in the studio working on “YEEZUS.” Young Travis also tells us we can expect his new album out in 2014 and he has been working closely with Kanye and Tip on it. You can hit the jump to watch some performances of “Upper Echelon” and “Uptown.”
While on the Red Carpet last night at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Travi$ Scott caught up with VIBE to chat quickly about working with Meek Mill and a secret song he has with JAY Z in the vaults. Hopefully we will hear this track sooner or later.
I already showed you guys the epic set from Casey Veggies during he and Travi$ Scott‘s tour stop at the El Rey Theatre in LA last night, but Travis himself definitely stole the show. This has to be the craziest moment of his career as he brought out his mentor Kanye West to join him on stage for “New Slaves.” This is crazy!
Travi$ Scott calls upon the help of buzzing Atlanta group Migos to remix his track “Quintana.” This will land on the upcoming “Been Trill” mixtape while the original landed in his free “Owl Pharaoh” project.
Travi$ Scott stopped by Hot 97 to speak with Peter Rosenberg about meeting Kanye West and T.I. for the first time. He goes in depth on the trips he took around the US to meet both legends and talked about the music he worked on with both parties. He also spoke out for the first time on what he uses for production which is Logic. Hit the jump to watch his performance at SOBs in New York last night courtesy of X.
Before WondaGurl appeared on Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” she produced a beat for Travi$ Scott on his “Owl Pharaoh” mixtape called “Uptown.” The teenage producer shows us how she made the instrumental which like “Crown,” she originally crafted hoping Pusha T would jump on it. Would you have thought this featured a Bollywood sample?
